Participatory design in recreational spaces: The child as a designer of their context

Abstract
INTRODUCTION The design of urban recreational spaces must be carried out with citizen participation to promote their identity. This article analyzes how the urban and rural context of Nuevo Chimbote, Peru is possible in the case study. OBJECTIVE Establish a methodology for the design of recreational spaces in a participatory manner. METHOD The method with which this research was developed was qualitative, where analyzes and comparisons of two case studies were carried out, in order to determine indications of methodologies by phases that can be applied. RESULTS It was possible to establish and discern in which of the design phases the main user of the recreational spaces to be designed can be involved in a leading way. DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSIONS as last reflections, the differences found in each application case analyzed are shown and how the participatory design with children in an urban context differs from a rural context.
